Salem, the capital of Oregon State, is actual living history. Follow the steps of the Lewis and Clark Adventure. The capital building itself is worth the tour with a large gold statue of a man with a hatchet and a tarp as the first pioneer. Stop by The Hallie Ford Museum of Art which includes works by Pacific Northwest and Native American artists.

Visit the Jewel of Salem, the Carousel of Riverfront park. All the parks are elegantly cultivated with love by its citizens. The local library has the most knowledgeable staff, go on your own adventure with them as your valuable tour guides.
